It’s not every day that we can help save historic landmarks simply by voting…
To be honest, it’s only until October 10.
As a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, I received a postcard in the mail a couple of days ago. This postcard outlined a special partnership between American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation to protect historic sites in the Chicagoland area. I quote, “Several sites will be awarded funding and the site with the highest number of public votes will receive their full preservation grant request.” In short, you have an opportunity to protect the past by influencing the future.
You can vote once daily, so get clicking over to the American Express Partners in Preservation website and select your preferred site from the 25 different locations under consideration. Remember, you can vote once daily through October 10, 2007. If you start today, that means 20 votes toward the Chicago Cultural Center, Robie House, the Bohemian National Cemetery or one of the 22 other deserving sites. Go now and vote to provide your favorite site with the resources to keep it available for future generations to enjoy!
